By Three states namely Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka are connected by the Konkan Railway. Three trains were launched by the Konkan Railway to support the holiday rush during the festival day especially, Ganesh Chaturthi.
There are no divisions for Konkan Railway. It has headquarters at Ratnagiri (Maharasthra) and Karwar (Karnataka). The Region Karwar covers around 660 km starts from Pernem in Goa to Surathkal in Karnataka and the region Ratnagiri covers about 480 km from Roha to Sawantwadi in Maharashtra. High-speed trains of minimum 160 km speed could easily pass through the konkan track. Presently Rajdhani Express, Trivandrum is the fastest trains that run on this route at 110 km per hour.
