Ophthalmology: Types of eye disease 

Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine and surgery which mainly deals with the treatment of eye disorders. The physicians who are specialist in ophthalmology are called an ophthalmologist. For becoming an ophthalmologist the physician has to go through four-year ophthalmology residency training after the completion of MBBS. After the completion of ophthalmology residency training, the ophthalmologist is allowed to treat the eye disease, implement laser therapy, or can perform any kind of eye surgery whenever it is required.

  • Retinal Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA): Retinal TIA is a condition when the patient experiences a stroke in the eye. It is found in research that 10-15% of the patient got a stroke within 90 days of showing the symptoms and in half of the patient it occurs within 48 hours.
